Few paralegals have the vast level of experience that Gary Lemmons can provide. In April of 1999, Gary achieved the ultimate goal of a Navy Legalman, being selected as the Command Master Chief (E-9) for the Judge Advocate General and Commander Naval Legal Service Command where he served until his retirement in August of 2002. Gary joined our legal staff in July of 2003 and for several years now has been the mainstay of our security clearance practice. Gary’s extensive knowledge in the area of security clearances has proven to be invaluable in all respects. From the point of the initial contact with a new client, through the conclusion of the case, Gary’s dedication and attention to our client’s case will meet the highest of expectations.

Gary enlisted in the Navy 1977, attended Yeoman "A" School and then converted to the Legalman rating in 1981 after graduation from Naval Justice School, Newport, Rhode Island, Legalman/Court Reporting Course. Gary was quickly identified as the frontrunner among his peers and his progression through the Legalman ranks of the Navy is remarkable in all respects. Gary was selected as the Judge Advocate General's Legalman of the Year for 1985. Gary reported for duty as Command Master Chief, Naval Legal Service Office Northwest in January 1998. As noted above, in April of 1999 Gary was selected to assume the responsibility of Command Master Chief (E-9) for the Judge Advocate General and Commander Naval Legal Service Command, a position he held with the highest of dedication and honor until his retirement from the Navy in August of 2002. During his career, Gary was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (5th award), Navy Achievement Medal (6th award), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Battle Efficiency Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal (5th award), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal (w/campaign star), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd award). He also earned the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist device.

Kat Hensley

Since joining our legal staff in April of 2005, Kat has proved to be an outstanding paralegal and she also provides a wealth of experience to assist our security clearance clients. While at her last duty station, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Norfolk VA, Kat had a variety of duties including career management, security manager, administrative LPO and she worked a wide array of military issues both for the Navy and all other branches of service until her retirement in Oct 2004. When Kat enlisted in the Navy in 1984, she attended Opticalman "A" and "C" school. As a OM, she repaired all types of navigational equipment and specialized in repairing submarine periscopes. While stationed at Trident Refit Facility, Kingsbay, GA she converted to the Navy Career Counselor rating and attended Career Counselor school in 1996. Kat transferred to the USS Monongahela and began providing career guidance and assistance on various career and administrative issues. During her Naval service, Kat was awarded the following ribbons: Defense Meritorious Service Medal (1); Navy Achievement Medal (4); Joint Unit Meritorious Award (2); Meritorious Unit Commendation; Battle Efficiency Ribbon (2); Navy Good Conduct (5); National Defense Service Medal (2); Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (4); NATO Medal in addition to several others.

THERESA JACKSON

Theresa Jackson served 7 years on active duty with the US Navy and was rated top in her class at Legalman “A” school. Theresa was assigned to the Trial Service Office East, Norfolk, VA., in 1997 and shortly thereafter went on to be assigned as the first rated Legalman at Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity Norfolk, VA. Since she started with our firm in 1999, Theresa has been our lead military paralegal on numerous contested Court-Martials, Boards of Inquiry, and Administrative Separation Boards. Theresa also handles all serious state and federal criminal litigation cases. The vast majority of the cases that Theresa currently works on are General Court-Martials that involve sex offenses. She is extremely knowledgeable in military law and provides outstanding support to our clients facing adverse action. Theresa holds both an Associates of Science Degree and an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Paralegal Studies.

MELODY DANIELS

Melody enlisted in the Navy 1987. Her first duty station was with the Fighter Squadron ONE TWO FOUR (VF-124) where she served as a Plane Captain working on the F-14 Tomcat as an undesignated Airman.  While at VF-124, she then struck for the Yeoman rating and was selected for advancement to YN3.  In 2001, she reported to Barbers Point, Hawaii, to Patrol Squadron ONE.  In 1995, she requested for a conversion into the Legalman Rating. In 1996, she graduated from the Naval Justice School, Newport, Rhode Island, Legalman/Court Reporting Course. Her tours of duty included: Naval Legal Service Office, Branch Office, Gulfport; Independent Duty Legalman at Helicopter Combat Support Squadron FIVE, Guam; Staff Judge Advocate's Office, Training Support Command, Hampton Roads, Dam Neck; and USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65), Norfolk.  During her career Melody was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (5 awards), Meritorious Unit Commendation (2 awards), Battle Efficiency Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal (5 awards), National Defense Service Medal (2 awards), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3 awards), Overseas Service Ribbon (2 awards), Kuwait Liberation Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. She also earned the Enlisted Surface and Aviation Warfare Specialist device. Melody retired from the United States Navy in October 2007.
